UX Software Engineer

We seek an experienced UX Software Engineer for a position based in New York. Applicant must have a minimum of 5-10++ years experience as a Software Engineer with demonstrated experience using design and development of modern enterprise applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer that possesses a commitment to excellence and high standards. Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills are a must. 


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Documentation as per standards and guidelines and completion of periodic task status reports.
 Continuously enhance knowledge as per project/organizational need and share information/ knowledge at all levels.
 This individual will participate with cross-functional team of professionals to provide technical architecture, design and development and act as a technical guide for subordinates.
 Keep pace with demanding operational responsibilities to meet schedules, deliveries and quality expectations.
 Demonstrate responsiveness towards peers and other functional areas.
 Independently handle assigned tasks with minimum guidance.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

 5-8 years experience in the design and development of modern enterprise applications, primarily focusing on the user interface.
 Solid understanding of core programming principles.
 Experience with of multiple current web mark-up and scripting languages: HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX 
 Experience with java script libraries like Prototype, JQuery etc. 
 Experience in developing flash (Action Script ) based applications like video players.
 Experience with templating technologies (i.e. Velocity ) 
 Candidates should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management. 
 Ability to not only work well with others in a team-based environment but also take on a leadership role in a collaborative environment. 

DESIRED SKILLS:
The following skills are not required, but are a plus:
 Experience with Java/J2EE.
 Media experience is a plus.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred.
