Summary:   Experienced Java developer with 5+ years of experience to develop both the server side infrastructure code for the firm's client facing web applications as well as the web UI's themselves.    The server side code will be written in core Java and client side will be coded in JSP.  
 
Person must have good core Java skills, eg: threading, collections api, data structures.   Person must know the Servlet API.    Person must also have at least some UI experience with JSP, Javacript, CSS, HTML and ExtJS and Flex would be a plus.  Another plus is Java Persistence API, JPA.   In total, this position will focus more on the server side.   
 
 
Position Description:
Java Developer to develop the external facing application platform for the company.   Will work initially on the core frameworks for the external client environment. The successful applicant would also have additional responsibility to develop, enhance and maintain other new or existing applications. The person in this role will have very good technical and analytical skills, and will work in the team to deliver robust IT solutions to the business. 

Roles and responsibilities include: 

• Developing quality software, which meets the business requirements in an effective and efficient manner 
• Managing projects to ensure they are delivered on time and to budget 
• Communicating with the business, stakeholders & other developers 
• Providing 3rd line support for production applications, resolve production issues in a timely manner 
• Adhering to standards as well as contributing to make the SDLC process more robust 

An ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for both new technology & business lines, and an eagerness to learn. He/she will also be able to handle competing demands on time and manage his/her own work to deadlines, and must demonstrate strong communication skills as well as sound judgment. Skills Required:
 • Extensive Object Oriented design and Java development experience (JAVA, JSP) 
• Experience with web based technologies and protocols (HTML, Javascript, XML, XSLT, SOAP) 
• Experience with designing a large-scale, real-time, business critical systems 
• Solid system architecture skills (especially 3/N-Tier applications) 
• Experience in Database design and database programming (Sybase / DB2 ideally) 
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to express their thoughts effectively 
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work with them to meet business requirements 
• Strong team working ability in local and global teams





Skills Desired:
 • UI Development(ExtJS experience is prefered) 
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate 
• UNIX/Linux scripting 
• Experience building financial systems 
• Experience gathering & managing requirements
